Yup. You cannot transcend (pass through and beyond) without first going THROUGH. We have to use our self-centeredness as a means of finding Oneness, harmony and love for the collective. Not stop the self from being the self; as I said before, this only ever increases the false dichotomy between self and other.
The idea of surrendering ourselves wholly unto ourselves is what scares us. To stop trying to dictate and control what ourselves are, and just allow ourselves to emerge organically from our nature, and our feelings in each moment. We use that “Ego mind” to constantly dominate, regulate, judge, and control ourselves, rather than just being as we are in each moment and letting that be acceptable to us.
AKA we seek to build these government-like structures within ourselves, these forms of domination, that mirror the structures we produce in the world. But as yogis have shown, we can go beyond the Ego mind. As anarchist rebellions have shown (and everyone who doesn’t turn to the centralized state to rule on every aspect of their lives has also shown) , we can go beyond government. It’s the same. process.
